Official Campaigning can only begin once the official campaigns are announced.
  • For executive campaigns, official campaigning begins at 12:01AM on March 02, 2009.
  • For Senate candidates, official campaigning begins at 9:01 PM on March 10, 2009.
  • For Referendum campaigns, official campaigning begins once the commission approves the referendum.
Campaigns and Candidates found in violation of this rule will be disqualified. The Election Commission has the right to change the start times for official campaigning.

The Election Commission has pushed back the due dates for Senate election packets and referendum petitions.
  • Completed Senate election packets are due no later than 5:00p on March 10, 2009.
  • Completed referendum petitions are due on later than 5:00p on March 16, 2009.
Completed packets and petitions are to be turned in to the Student Government Office, 342 EMU Student Center.

The Election Commission has changed the date of the March 17 mandatory election meeting. The meeting will not take place in the Student Government Office at 9:00p om March 16, 2009. You must inform the Election Commissioner if you cannot attend. Candidates and campaigns that do not attend without reason will be considered dropped from the election.

The Election Commission has set a time for the Student Government Open House. The open house shall take place between 1:00p and 3:00p on March 19 in the Center for Student Involvement. Though this event is optional, it is recommended that all candidates and campaigns attend.
